soup kitchen
Are you looking for a way to put action to what you're learning about Christ's love as you grow through studying God's Word? Come volunteer at our Soup Kitchen Ministry, which is open every Monday from 9:30am to 11:30am where our caring volunteers serve hot, nutritious soup and bread to between 60 and 100 people each week. Our Social Hall doors (located on the Colley Avenue side of the Main Building) are open to anyone who has this need.
Those who enter our warm and inviting dining hall will find friendly smiles and sincere, caring attitudes from our volunteers. We recognize that times of need are incredibly stressful. Our aim is to treat our Monday guests with dignity and compassion, allowing them to feel the warm love of Jesus while they are in a safe and friendly place of rest.
Our Soup Kitchen Ministry is staffed and maintained entirely by friendly and dedicated volunteers. This ministry affords an excellent opportunity for people to volunteer to help in a very meaningful way. Helping people during times of economic difficulty is a compassionate and Christ-like act.
If you have a loving heart for people and desire to volunteer to cook, serve or donate food and/or money for this very important ministry, please let us know. You do not have to be a member of our church to be a volunteer.
If you would like to be a part of this exciting ministry or if you need more info about the Soup Kitchen, please contact us at 757.627.4571 or email us at cbcsec123@verizon.net.
